We celebrated Mia and Boppa's fiftieth wedding anniversary with family on our houseboat Memorial week-end. As always, Mia kept everyone entertained with her stories and antics, while Boppa was his everloving, adorable self. The weather was perfect! The houseboat was filled to the brim with love, good food, and memory making fun!
Mia and Boppa arrived at the houseboat midmorning, Saturday, May 28, 2011. Jeff, myself, Jared and girlfriend Ashley, and Jeffrey Tyler had arrived the evening before to ready the houseboat for the party. After lunch, we enjoyed the lovely sunshine and warm temperatures, a perfect day on the boat. Uncle Tom, Kristi with JP, Hannah, Jordan, and Madeline, and Melody with Jacob and Kaelie arrived soon after for an afternoon of fun. We headed the boat out to party cove area on Lake Patoka. Everyone jumped into swimsuits and headed to the upper deck for the sun and fun!

After visiting, the young people decided it was time to do some "roof jumping", which consisted of their jumping into the lake from the roof of the houseboat. My kids have been doing this for several years and essentially had no fear. However, Ashley, JP, Hannah, Jacob, Kaelie, and Jordan were "nubbies" at roof jumping, but showed no fear and jumped as if they were professionals!
My Mom said she learned how to swim when someone took her out in the lake and threw her off the boat. I said, “Mom, they weren't trying to teach you how to swim." -Paula Poundstone

After roof jumping, Jeff and the kids headed out in the speedboat for some ultimate tubing, while the rest of us relaxed and caught up with one another on the top deck.

It was a wonderful day spent on the lake with our family celebrating Mia and Boppa's 50th Anniversary! We ended the day enjoying the most spectacular sunset ever!
